About the genus
Lilium consists of bulbous perennial plants characterized by upright stems that support whorled or spirally arranged foliage. These plants produce terminal clusters of flowers that can be bowl-shaped, trumpet-shaped, funnel-shaped, or turk's cap in form. Many varieties emit a pleasant fragrance and are available in shades of white, yellow, orange, or red.
