Veronica incana 'Wendy' is a perennial member of the Plantaginaceae, native to parts of Eastern Europe, Russia, all of Siberia, Mongolia and northern China. It produces its flower display through the summer months, reliably flowering from June to September. Plant into a position with full sun or partial shade in a free-draining soil; avoid heavy, waterlogged ground. It prefers moderate soil moisture rather than drought or prolonged saturation. Hardiness is H5, which in plain terms means it is hardy in most UK gardens through winter without special protection. Sit plants towards the front of a sunny mixed border, in gravel or herbaceous edgings where good drainage is available, or alongside stone paths. Mulch lightly in spring and aim to keep the crown clear of mulch to reduce rot. Allow spent flowering spikes to age through September then cut back to basal growth to tidy the clump for the following season.
