Tulipa 'Holland Chic' is a spring-flowering bulbous tulip in the lily family (Liliaceae) that produces the large, cup-shaped blooms typical of the genus. It flowers from March to May, emerging after winter dormancy. As an herbaceous geophyte it dies back to the bulb in summer once flowers and leaves finish. The cultivar shares the long history of cultivation and naturalisation that characterises garden tulips.

A cultivar within the Tulipa genus, Tulipa 'Holland Chic' carries the seasonal habit common to tulips: a winter-resting bulb sends up leaves and a stem in spring to produce conspicuous blooms, then the top growth dies back as the plant returns to dormancy. Tulips originate from a broad band from southern Europe to Central Asia and have been widely cultivated and naturalised in temperate regions since the 17th century, so this cultivar sits within that long tradition. Position bulbs where they will receive spring light before surrounding perennials leaf out; a free-draining site that does not remain waterlogged through summer reduces the risk of bulb rot. Allow foliage to remain until it yellows, as the leaves photosynthesise into the bulb to support the next season's flowers. Where winter protection is required, mulch after the ground has frozen rather than before, to avoid trapping pests and moisture against the bulb. Tulipa 'Holland Chic' performs best as a seasonal accent in beds, borders or containers where a focused March–May display is wanted; after flowering, lift or leave bulbs depending on the chosen planting scheme. Allow the leaves to die back naturally to feed the bulb for the following spring display.
