It produces its main display in May to June, providing spring interest at a low to medium height. Give Streptopus roseus a fully shaded position on sandy or loamy soil that remains moist but well-drained; avoid sites that dry out completely between rains. The plant is rated H7, meaning it is fully hardy in the UK and can be left in open ground through winter. Plant at the same level as it grew in the pot and maintain a mulch to help retain even moisture if the site is prone to brief dry spells. Use this perennial in the lower tier of a deep-shade border, along shaded paths or beneath taller shrubs where its 0.5 m height will sit in scale.
