As a garden selection it follows the genus pattern of simple, alternate leaves and two-lipped tubular flowers, making it a recognisable summer-blooming lobelia in borders and containers. In the UK it flowers from June to September. Plant 'Bees' Flame' into a moist, well-drained soil and position it where it receives good daylight with some protection from the hottest afternoon sun. Keep soil evenly moist through the flowering season and feed lightly while blooms are being produced to sustain flowering.
