Berberis julianae is a multi-stemmed, well-branched shrub in the Berberidaceae valued for its spring display, flowering in April to May. Leaves can be either evergreen or deciduous depending on site and clone. It tolerates full sun to partial shade and withstands exposed as well as sheltered positions. It prefers moist but well-drained soils across chalk, clay, loam or sand and is fully hardy in the UK (H7).
