About
A large, deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub from the Himalaya to about 4m tall with broadly elliptic, serrated, mid-green leaves held on purplish stems, and pendulous clusters of small, tubular, scented, pink-flushed white flowers in spring, followed by small, oval berries turning red then black. A graceful, fragrant species for a sheltered, partly shaded garden.
