About

A large, evergreen shrub or small tree to about 3m tall from Madeira, with broadly ovate to elliptic, mid-green leaves and racemes of white to pale yellow, urn-shaped flowers in summer, followed by small, dark berries. An ornamental and interesting Macaronesian endemic for a sheltered, mild garden or cool glasshouse.
