About the genus
Taiwania is a genus of very large coniferous trees in the cypress family, native to montane forests of East and Southeast Asia. Plants produce blue-green, awl-shaped juvenile leaves and scale-like adult foliage on weeping branchlets, and are grown as imposing specimen trees in sheltered, moist gardens.
