It grows to roughly 0.4 m and produces conspicuous yellow flowers through the summer months from June to September. Plant it in a sunny spot where soil drains freely; the species accepts sandy, loamy or clay textures but dislikes waterlogging, so a free-draining mix or raised bed suits it. Soil can be kept on the drier side or maintained as moist but well-drained; avoid permanently waterlogged positions. The UK hardiness rating H7 means it is fully hardy here (equivalent to USDA zones 4–10), so it will tolerate typical winter conditions without winter protection. Because of its size and sun preference, Sedum aizoon 'Aurantiacum' works well on gravel beds, rock gardens, sunny borders or in containers positioned on a warm, sheltered patio. Allow the summer display of yellow flowers to run its course from June to September and remove spent flower stalks if you prefer a tidier outline afterwards.
