Rebutia minuscula is a species of cactus from South America found in northern Argentina and Bolivia. It is the type species of the genus Rebutia. As its synonym Rebutia senilis it has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Its cultivars 'Krainziana', 'Marsoneri' and 'Violaciflora' are also listed as having gained the Award of Garden Merit. In the wild it grows across Argentina Northwest and Argentina. Grow it in full sun and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it is tender and needs frost-free protection over winter (RHS H2). It works well for patio and container plants. It tolerates acid and neutral soils, well-drained conditions and south-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant at appropriate depth in well-drained soil.
