Peperomia tenella, known as the Jayuya, is a species of perennial, lithophyte or epiphyte in the genus Peperomia. It was first described by Olof Swartz but named it Piper tenellum. It primarily grows on wet tropical biomes. In the wild it grows across Caribbean, Brazil Northeast, Brazil North, Brazil Southeast, Brazil South and other regions. Grow it in partial shade and loam soil. In UK gardens it needs subtropical warmth and glass protection in the UK (RHS H1b). It works well for houseplants, hanging basket and conservatory and greenhouse. It tolerates neutral soils, moist but well-drained conditions and east-facing, north-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant in gritty compost. Full sun.
