As a named lactiflora cultivar, it contributes to the long-established group of garden peonies valued for their spring floriferousness and presence in traditional borders. Select a sunny to partly shaded position with soil that drains freely; peonies do not tolerate persistent waterlogging. Plant crowns so that the buds sit just below the soil surface and avoid disturbing established roots. Locate specimens away from trees and large shrubs to reduce root competition, and give them space for air to circulate to limit fungal problems. Stems often need support once buds develop, so fit rings or stakes before growth accelerates. Remove spent flowers to keep the plant tidy and to direct energy to the crown; allow foliage to die back naturally before cutting to ground level in autumn. Expect flowers in May to June, a window that suits both mixed borders and cutting for late spring floral displays.
