Ophiopogon planiscapus, mondo grass, is a slowly spreading evergreen perennial forming dense clumps of arching, narrowly strap-shaped, leathery, dark-green leaves 20�30 cm long. Racemes of small, pale purplish-white flowers are produced in summer, followed by fleshy, blue-black berries. An ornamental and reliable ground-cover plant for a shaded or partly shaded, moist border.
