Musa beccarii is a species of wild banana (genus Musa), found in Malaysia, in Sabah (in the northern part of the island of Borneo). It is placed in section Callimusa (now including the former section Australimusa). It is native to Borneo. In the garden it prefers full sun and partial shade and most soil types. In UK gardens it is half-hardy and may need winter protection in colder areas (RHS H3). Suggested uses include sub-tropical, architectural, city and courtyard gardens and patio and container plants. It tolerates soil of any pH, moist but well-drained, well-drained conditions and south-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil in a suitable position. Water during establishment.
