Gagea flavonutans is an Asian species of plants in the lily family, native to Tibet, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, and Assam. Gagea flavonutans is a bulb-forming perennial up to 25 cm tall. Flowers are yellow with purple veins. It grows in thickets and meadows at elevations of 4000–5000 m. Grow it in full sun and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it is very hardy across most of the UK (RHS H6). It works well for rock garden. It tolerates alkaline and neutral soils, moist but well-drained conditions and east-facing, south-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil in a suitable position. Water during establishment.
