Kalanchoe gastonis-bonnieri, the donkey ears plant, is a large, upright succulent to 1 m with enormous, elongated, spear-shaped, waxy, grey-green leaves with a chocolate-brown mottling. Small plantlets form along the leaf margins. Tubular, red-orange flowers appear in winter. A striking and architectural succulent for a frost-free greenhouse or large conservatory.
