Illicium parviflorum, commonly known as yellow anisetree, yellow-anise, swamp star-anise, and small anise tree, is a species of flowering plant in the family Schisandraceae, or alternately, the Illiciaceae. It is native to Florida in the United States. It historically occurred in Georgia as well, but it has been extirpated from the state. Grow it in partial shade and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it is hardy in most of the UK (RHS H5). It works well for specimen, hedge and woodland garden. It tolerates acid and neutral soils, moist conditions and north, east and west-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
