A small, rounded, evergreen shrub to about 2m tall from Chile related to the Chilean myrtle (Ugni molinae), with small, paired, elliptic, leathery, dark green leaves and small, white or pale pink, cup-shaped flowers in spring, followed by small, round, dark, edible berries. A choice shrub for a sheltered, mild, woodland garden.
