A deciduous shrub to about 5m tall from California with an open, spreading habit, small, rounded, three-lobed, mid-green leaves and clusters of bright magenta-pink, pea-like flowers in early spring before the leaves emerge. A spectacular flowering shrub for a warm, sheltered, well-drained, sunny garden.
