Globularia alypum, the Alypo globe daisy or shrubby globularia, is a species of flowering plant in the family Plantaginaceae, with a Mediterranean distribution. A shrub that is often co-dominant in the calcareous shrublands in which it occurs, it is used as a purgative. In the garden it prefers full sun and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it is hardy in most of the UK (RHS H5). Suggested uses include rock garden, gravel garden and patio and container plants. It tolerates alkaline and neutral soils, well-drained conditions and south-facing, east-facing, west-facing and north-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil in a suitable position. Water during establishment.
