Globba albiflora is a small plant in the ginger family, Zingiberaceae, sometimes called dancing ladies. This species can be found in Indo-China, Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra; in Viet Nam the genus may likewise be called gừng vũ nữ or lô ba. The variety called G. albiflora var. aurea Holttum is now Globba newmanii Sangvir. In the wild it grows across Malaya and Thailand. Grow it in partial shade and loam soil. In UK gardens it is hardy through an average UK winter (RHS H4). It works well for ornamental plant. It tolerates neutral soils, moist conditions and south-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil in a suitable position. Water during establishment.
