It thrives in partial shade, particularly on north-facing, sheltered aspects, and prefers fertile, moist but well-drained loam soil with a neutral pH. Hardy to UK zone H5, it is well suited for use as ground cover in woodland gardens. This cultivar is best propagated by semi-ripe cuttings taken in summer and is most notable for its interest during the spring and summer seasons.
