Ulmus uyematsui is a spreading-branched deciduous tree in the elm family (Ulmaceae). It prefers full sun to partial shade and does best in well-drained soils. The species tolerates chalk, clay, loam or sand across acid to alkaline pH and suits east, south or west aspects. Flowering occurs in March to April, and the tree is rated H6 (very hardy) in the UK.
