Dracaena aubryana, the lance dracaena, is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae. It is native to west-central Tropical Africa, and it has been introduced to Hawaii. An erect shrub reaching 0.5 to 2.5 m (2 to 8 ft), it is found in the seasonally dry tropics. It is occasionally kept as an ornamental. In the garden it prefers full sun and partial shade and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it needs tropical warmth and glass protection in the UK (RHS H1a). Suggested uses include houseplants and conservatory and greenhouse. It tolerates soil of any pH, moist but well-drained conditions and south-facing, east-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant in well-drained soil. Stake when young.
