Dierama pendulum, grassy bells, is an evergreen perennial with narrow leaves to 50 cm long and arching flower stems to 1 m bearing drooping, loosely branched clusters of flaring, pendant bell-like, pink flowers with papery brown bracts. A graceful and ornamental wandflower for a sunny, well-drained border.

Dierama, the wandflowers or African hairbells, are evergreen, clump-forming cormous perennials with long, narrow leaves and slender, arching stems bearing nodding, bell-shaped flowers in shades of pink, mauve, purple or white in summer. Among the most graceful of all South African garden plants.
