Dendrobium chryseum is a species of flowering plant in the family Orchidaceae. It is native to the Himalayas, mainland South East Asia, south-central China, and Taiwan. It is one of over 1,600 species in the genus Dendrobium. An epiphyte with yellow flowers, it grows on tree trunks in broadleaf forests at elevations from 1,700 to 2,600 m (5,600 to 8,500 ft). Grow it in full sun and partial shade and loam soil. In UK gardens it needs tropical warmth and glass protection in the UK (RHS H1a). It works well for houseplants and conservatory and greenhouse. It tolerates neutral soils, well-drained conditions and east-facing, west-facing, north-facing and south-facing aspects. Plant at appropriate depth in well-drained soil.
