Crocus olivieri is a species of flowering plant in the family Iridaceae. It is from the Balkans, Albania, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria to Greece and Turkey. The species is found growing in deciduous scrub and on open hillsides, or in pine woods from sea level to 1500 meters; flowering occurs in January till March. In the garden it prefers full sun and loam soil. In UK gardens it is very hardy across most of the UK (RHS H6). Suggested uses include borders, containers, lawns and under deciduous trees. It tolerates neutral soils, well-drained conditions and south-facing aspects. Plant at appropriate depth in well-drained soil.
