Crocus cyprius is a species of flowering plant in the genus Crocus of the family Iridaceae. It is a cormous perennial native to Cyprus where it is found in the Troödos Mountains. Plants flower from January to April and are found inhabiting areas with stony soils. The corm tunic is annulate (having rings) and papery. In the garden it prefers full sun and loam soil. In UK gardens it is very hardy across most of the UK (RHS H6). Suggested uses include borders, containers, lawns and under deciduous trees. It tolerates neutral soils, well-drained conditions and south-facing aspects. Plant at appropriate depth in well-drained soil.
