Keep it in a south- or west-facing spot where it receives full sun while remaining sheltered from cold winds. The plant flowers from April to July, so position and winter protection are important if you want reliable blossom and subsequent fruit. Grow 'Dweet' in a neutral, loam-based compost or garden loam with good drainage and sufficient moisture; the soil should be kept moist but not waterlogged. As a half-hardy (H2) plant it will not tolerate hard frosts: in most of the UK it is best as a conservatory or greenhouse specimen or as a container plant that can be moved under cover when temperatures fall.
