Carmichaelia astonii (common name Aston's dwarf broom) is a species of pea in the family Fabaceae. It is found only in South Island of New Zealand. Its conservation status (2018) is "Nationally vulnerable" under the New Zealand Threat Classification System. The flowers appear pea-like, are pink, with a darker centre. It is native to New Zealand South. In the garden it prefers full sun and partial shade and most soil types. In UK gardens it is half-hardy and may need winter protection in colder areas (RHS H3). Suggested uses include city and courtyard gardens, cottage and informal garden, coastal, wall side borders and flower borders and beds.
