Camellia saluenensis is a species of Camellia native to south‑central China. A large bush, it is a parent of a number of garden hybrids. 'Cornish Snow' (C. cuspidata × C. saluenensis) which flowers in midwinter, and 'Inspiration' (C. reticulata × C. saluenensis) have both gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. In the garden it prefers full shade and partial shade and most soil types. In UK gardens it is hardy in most of the UK (RHS H5). Suggested uses include city and courtyard gardens, cottage and informal garden and patio and container plants. It tolerates acid and neutral soils, moist but well-drained, well-drained conditions and north-facing, west-facing and east-facing aspects.
