Boltonia latisquama is a member of the Boltonia genus in the family Asteraceae and produces its main display from August to October. Flowering timing is the clearest identifying feature to plan around; confirm the origin and any cultivar notes with the nursery so you know what to expect from your specific stock. Growing requirements vary between Boltonia taxa, so request sun, soil and hardiness information for the exact plant you are buying rather than relying on generalisations. Where possible, select a position that allows the late-summer flowers to be seen without being shaded out by taller neighbours. Provide enough root space and routine access for pruning or cutting back after flowering if required.
