Arenaria leptoclados, the lesser thyme-leaved sandwort, is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae. It is an annual native to Europe, western and Central Asia, and northern and eastern Africa. The decumbent annual herb typically grows to a height of 0.5 metres (2 ft) and produces white flowers when it blooms from late winter to spring. It has been introduced to Scandinavia, Great Britain and Ireland, and the southeastern United States. Grow it in full sun and partial shade and most soil types. In UK gardens it is hardy in most of the UK (RHS H5). It works well for rock garden, gravel garden, ground cover, alpine garden and container planting. It tolerates soil of any pH, well-drained conditions and south-facing, north-facing, west-facing and east-facing aspects. Plant out after last frost in fertile, well-drained soil.
