Androsace mathildae is an alpine cushion plant in the family Primulaceae, endemic to the Abruzzo Apennines in Italy. This species is included in Appendix I of the Berne Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, in Annex II and IV Habitats Directive 92/43 CEE, and is protected under Regional Law n. 45/79 of the Abruzzo Italian Region. Grow it in full sun and most soil types. In UK gardens it is hardy in most of the UK (RHS H5). It works well for rock garden, gravel garden and patio and container plants. It tolerates soil of any pH, moist but well-drained conditions and south-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant out after last frost in fertile, well-drained soil.
