Acacia floribunda, commonly known as white sally wattle, gossamer wattle, river wattle or white-sallow wattle, is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to eastern Australia. It is a spreading shrub or tree with often pendulous branches covered with soft hairs, linear to narrowly lance-shaped phyllodes, spikes of pale yellow to more or less white flowers and straight to strongly curved, firmly papery pods. In the garden it prefers full sun and loam and sand soil. In UK gardens it is half-hardy and may need winter protection in colder areas (RHS H3). Suggested uses include city and courtyard gardens and mediterranean climate plants. It tolerates acid and neutral soils, moist but well-drained, well-drained conditions and south-facing and west-facing aspects. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Provide support.
