Salsola soda is a tender, annual succulent that typically reaches about 60 cm in height. Its distinctive candelabra-like form features slender, green, needle-like leaves. Commonly cultivated as a salad crop, it offers a crisp texture reminiscent of samphire and a taste similar to spinach. For optimal growth, sow seeds between March and April when nighttime temperatures remain cool, using fresh seeds as they do not have a long shelf life. Harvesting can occur from late spring through early autumn.
