A cultivar of Z. zerumbet with boldly variegated (Darceyi), cream-striped leaves giving a dramatic tropical effect. Forms clumps of erect stems bearing two-ranked, broadly lance-shaped leaves and the typical cylindrical, cone-like inflorescences. An ornamental and architecturally striking foliage plant for a warm, humid glasshouse or sheltered tropical border.

About the genus

Zygopetalum consists of around 14 species of orchid, native to the humid forests of South America and Brazil. They are known for their scented, waxy flowers. These long-lived blooms can be patterned in hues of green, purple, burgundy and raspberry.
