About
This evergreen perennial to about 30cm with strap-shaped leaves turning bronzy in winter. The perfumed flowers, which appear in short spikes from late winter to late spring, are white, ageing to pink, tubular with long petal lobes and even longer stamens with blue anthers.
About the genus
Ypsilandra are perennials growing from thick rhizomes. Evergreen leaves are long and thin and grow in a rosette at the base of the plant. Fragrant, tube-shaped nodding flowers appear on a long stem and can be pink, purple, white or yellow.
