A semi-deciduous or evergreen shrub to about 2m from the Himalaya and China with small, ovate to elliptic, softly hairy, grey-green (canescens) leaves and small clusters of tubular, fragrant, pale yellow flowers in the leaf axils in summer, followed by small, fleshy fruits. A rare and little-cultivated species of the Thymelaeaceae family for a sheltered, mild garden.
