About

A spreading, semi-evergreen shrub or small tree to 4m tall and 6m wide. In late winter to early spring, dense clusters of flowers open from brown buds with yellow anthers tinged red surrounded by purple-brown bracts. Oblong to elliptic leaves up to 8cm long are semi-evergreen with some turning shades of yellow, orange and reddish-purple before falling in autumn; new growth emerges tinted deep reddish-purple in spring before turning glossy green.
