A compact, mat-forming, evergreen sub-shrub to about 20cm tall from rocky habitats in Spain with small, aromatic, silver-hairy leaves with prominently pointed (oxylepis) bracts and small, tubular, pale lilac flowers in summer. A choice rock garden plant for a sunny, sharply drained position.
