A large, spreading, evergreen juniper to about 8m tall from the arid mountains of Texas and New Mexico, with drooping, scale-like, grey-green to mid-green aromatic foliage and small, round, berry-like, reddish-brown cones. A rare and unusual juniper for a hot, sunny, sharply-drained position.
