A medium-sized, deciduous shrub to about 2.5m tall from central and eastern Asia, with broadly ovate, coarsely-toothed, mid-green leaves and flat-topped clusters of small, white flowers in spring, followed by persistent, bright red berries in autumn. A handsome and ornamental viburnum for a mixed shrub border or woodland garden.
