About

A medium-sized, deciduous shrub to about 2m tall from eastern Asia with ovate, textured, mid-green leaves with fine teeth and distinctive veining, and broad, flat-topped clusters of small, white flowers in spring, followed by persistent, showy, red berries that ripen to black in autumn. An ornamental and free-fruiting shrub for a woodland or mixed border.
