A mat-forming or low-growing, semi-evergreen perennial to about 20cm tall with small, oval, slightly scalloped leaves and short, branching racemes of small, bright blue flowers with a white eye from late spring through summer. A variable wild species with several ornamental forms suited to a rock garden or well-drained sunny border.
