A rosette-forming biennial or short-lived perennial to about 60cm tall with prominently scalloped, dark green, slightly sticky basal leaves and slender, erect spikes of warm yellow flowers with purple-stamened centres from midsummer to early autumn. A handsome, naturalising mullein for a sunny, well-drained border or gravel garden.
