The subspecies of Telopea speciosissima bearing the typical specific characteristics � large, bold, terminal clusters of vivid scarlet-red flowers with densely arranged, curved individual blooms in a rounded head to about 15cm across, borne on an erect, evergreen shrub to about 2m tall with leathery, dark green, toothed leaves. The iconic New South Wales waratah, suited to moist, acidic, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
