The trunk is topped by a head of green, fan-like leaves comprising deeply split leaflets 80-100cm long that are held stiffly erect on the ends of petioles 1-1.2min length. Clusters of pale yellow flowers appear in summer. Hardy in the UK and an excellent palm for adding a tropical feel to a garden.
