An erect, deciduous shrub to about 1m tall from New Zealand's South Island with wiry, spreading stems bearing small, leathery, dark green leaves and clusters of tiny, white flowers in late spring, followed by small, dark berries. A compact ornamental for a sheltered, moist, cool garden position.
